We recently sat down with Hee Jong to talk about her experience as a Partner at JCP, the value of collaboration across advisory and legal services, and the importance of helping clients navigate complex portfolio and data challenges with consistency, strategy, and care.
You've spent many years helping clients manage complex portfolios and lease data. What's something about that work that people outside the industry may not realize is so important?
"We often work with many different stakeholders within a company - Legal, Real Estate, Operations, Finance, and Accounting. While one group may initially drive the decision to leverage JCP's services to improve data quality and portfolio visibility, the most successful implementations are the ones where all internal stakeholders are invested in maintaining and improving that data quality. People outside the industry may not realize how dependent these systems are on consistent communication and process discipline across departments. Without buy-in from all system users, the documentation and data that drive changes in the database never make it into our hands accurately or on time. A big part of our role is serving as a bridge between stakeholders, helping ensure that everyone follows consistent processes and controls so the portfolio data remains reliable, actionable, and valuable to the business."
With your legal background and experience in advisory services, how has your perspective helped shape the way you approach client strategy and problem solving?
"My philosophy, which was strengthened during my years of legal training, is that we are advocates for our clients. I believe effective advocacy means not only responding to the issue in front of you but also anticipating broader implications and potential risks to deliver practical, effective solutions. My legal background also reinforced the importance of careful analysis, attention to detail, and applying information from multiple sources to solve problems. Our mission at JCP is to provide excellent service and consistently go beyond expectations. Our clients see the JCP team as an extension of their teams, and we welcome opportunities to provide support and value wherever we are needed."
Having been with Jackson Cross for many years, what's something you've enjoyed most about being part of the team and watching the company grow over time?
"It's incredible to see how the Company has adapted to the changing landscape of the real estate industry - continuing to expand our expertise and enhance our capabilities while still maintaining a strong commitment to quality and client relationships. The average tenure of the JCP team is 10 years or more. Some of us, myself included, began our careers at JCP, and it is rewarding to see the company and the team develop into a high-caliber team of professionals."
